update: the Voltaire has been finished, be sure to check it out.
here's the SWAT version:[link]
and the completed lineart:[link]

*OLD POSTING * welp, i didn't finish the suit last night like i had hoped. i spent half the time making decisions on whether to change various area of the armor, fixing detail, and finishing the right leg.

so all that's really left is finishing the abdomen, putting boosters underneath the skirt armor, and the arms. so this fella should be done tonite... assuming friends won't be calling ;D

(i'll include this message in the final version) people have asked me why i do so much detail. the answer is simple, i do enough detail for 1/100 (7.5 in) or even 1/60 (1 ft tall.) this way when i sculpt this guy into a kit i don't have go back and figure out what new details i have to do; cause they're already done.

No, actually I have no background in engineering, unless you count Bandai MG gundam kits XD.

I have studied complex designs, to the point were it's probably not healthy XD (I'm serious btw, keep you body healthy.) I learned by obcessively Studying Mamoru Nagano (FSS), Fujita, Izubuchi, Akitaka, Katoki, and some Okawara (Gundam.) And I mean STUDYING them: why the design worked, or why it didn't work... the knowledge gained from the 2 year crash course in Mecha, the Grail as one would call it, is amazing, yet daunting at the same time. The design knowledge and experience learned is like taking an Advanced Design Class twice. It's kinda like how Physicists and feel mental computations, once the "Order of Operations" for design are set (and complete) you can takle any design in a matter of days or less.

In the nutshell, The design is precise because I had to do a lot of pre-planning, trial and error, sacrifices, big decisions, and a whole-mess-a-Advanced-Design Theory, that wasn't taught in a book, or a Class room. But, self taught OCD style.

lol, I should probably cut myself there, otherwise I could get into a Rant that could fill pages XD; speaking of which if you check out some of my replies to comments on my art, you can get some real good advice. just look for Paragraphs... ;D

I do............

Mecha (graphics & writing) and Music are my life. Once I have the gusto to do a design, I don't stop, not for food, nor sleep, but maybe for the bathroom ;D

I confess I usually smoke when I draw. Helps keep me grounded in my mind; and smoking is a form of Alchemy: destroying one thing to allow another to be born.

In all honesty I really like this version. The simple lines leading to the finished parts leave such a great impact for me and it also draws me into it. Also it kinda looks like it is being repaired or something. XD
